Touch for Health Case Studies
2 Touch for Health Case Studies – 18 hours
2 Touch for Health Case studies are required for the IKC Certified Touch for Health Consultant qualification. And each successful completed case study is considered as 9 hours training.
A case study will normally, follow a client through a series of 3-4 balance sessions, recording initial history, and any changes made by the client during the series of balances.
Case studies provide a history of the client, background information, goals and desired outcomes, pre and post balance evaluation, client’s awareness of change, Practitioner observations and insights, time between sessions, patterns emerging through the session/s, what was learned from the sessions – client and self, home reinforcement, any patterns emerging over a series of clients’ sessions.
Requirements
- Two Touch for Health case studies are required for IKC Certified Touch for Health Consultant qualification. A minimum of three Touch for Health balance sessions per case study is required, though some may require more balance sessions.
- All case studies need to be submitted to a TFH Assessor for marking.
- A case study will normally, though not necessarily, follow a client through a series of balances, recording initial history, and any changes made by the client during the series of balances.
- Use initials only to identify clients, not names. Be sure that you have your client’s permission to use details of their balances in a case study.
- Students are required to complete a TFH Case Study form for each case study. And a TFH Balance Sheet should be used to record each case study session. Both TFH Case Study form and TFH Balance Sheet can be downloaded at https://touchforhealth.nz/resources/

- To get your case studies assessed, please first purchase the Touch for Health Case Studies Assessment where further instructions can be found, from our online store.
- It is recommended that on completion of your first case study, please send your first case study for marking to make sure that you are fulfilling the requirements before submitting your second case study.

What information should be gathered during Case Study Balance Sessions?
During a balance session, the following information should be gathered and recorded for case study purposes:
1. The clients background information
2. The use of this information
3. Goals and desired outcomes
4. Pre-tests used to evaluate the goals
5. Pre and post balance evaluation
6. Client’s awareness of change – Client shifts/insights – how was this used
7. Time between sessions
8. Practitioner observations and insights for each session
9. Patterns emerging through the session/s, how was this awareness used
10. What was learned from the sessions – client and self
11. Home reinforcement
12. Why include this as a case study
13.How long client changes lasted
14. Any patterns emerging over a series of clients
